“Top comedy courses”: Chortle.co.uk
Spacious, air conditioned comedy room
Amused Moose's Absolute and Almost Beginners comedy course will introduce you in a fun, friendly and supportive environment to the exciting world of stand-up comedy. Previous graduates include not only Greg Davies and Josh Widdicombe but also Rhod Gilbert who recently was so positive on television as well as in the press about how lifechanging the Amused Moose course has been, plus many more who are seen every day on stage and all broadcast platforms round the world.
Someone who keeps in touch has become rather famous in Canada, as you can see on https://youtu.be/BMaS--LwROU in his hometown arena, where he displays many of the skills that he learnt on the course.
So whether you are keen to become a comedian or comedy writer, or have a wedding speech coming up, want to be more confident making presentations at work, or it is on your bucket list or you simply want an enjoyable new experience, this course is described as "magical" with a "superb enthusiastic tutor".
Amused Moose comedy courses often fill up way ahead so don't delay enrolling or you may
be too late to get a place, so then have to wait for another one with dates that suit you
Our Beginners course is so highly regarded that people even travel from the USA to do it, which may be because, unlike other comedy courses, ours
- are led by current headline comedians who regularly perform at the biggest and best comedy clubs in the UK and abroad,
- we unusually limit participants to ten at most, to ensure that everyone gets lots of individual advice, guidance and encouragement, and also
- our courses 'graduates' lead the field in comedy entertainment.
Amused Moose Comedy courses (“Top comedy courses”: Chortle.co.uk) are the most affordable around, despite the added-value of being in a small group and of being tutored by an awardwinning up-to-date comedian.
During the course you will learn how to:
- Create comedy routines.
- Write jokes using a variety of structures.
- Properly use a microphone.
- Give a great first impression.
- Connect with your audience.
- Deal with nerves.
- Perform confidently on stage at the optional graduation showcase.
The course is led by Markus Birdman who is one of stand-up’s most respected awardwinning British comedians, much in demand in the UK and around the world - this course was pushed back due to his extensive tour around Australia and New Zealand.
A couple of career highlights were finding himself sharing the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, and recently supporting Jason Manford at the London Palladium. And to top that off his solo show The Bearable Heaviness of Not Nearly Being at Edinburgh Fringe this year earned him a rare and coveted review from the most influential comedy critic.
“Uniquely talented, demonstrates just how it's done”: Evening Standard
“The all-round package; witty, controversial, hip, topical, silly.
Made me laugh so hard it hurt. A master”: BBC
Because there is nothing as good as a recommendation, here is some recent feedback:
- “An incredible, amazing, thoroughly enjoyable course, that I certainly recommend.”
- “You learn stagecraft, how to write a joke, how to make it funnier, and how to stand up and deliver it so that people laugh. It’s magical.”
- “I have done several comedy courses but this is the best, and we had lots of practice with a mic."
- “The graduation showcase was huge fun, with an audience and everything. You don't have to do it, but you'd be depriving yourself of a highlight if you don't.”
- “I thoroughly enjoyed working with such an enthusiastic tutor in Markus, who is a quite superb teacher.”
- “I really enjoyed the course. Markus managed to make us all funny in a comfortable environment. My 6th gig is tonight - I love it!”
